Stanley,I don't hear any passengers complaining about their free trip on one of the other ferries.Trucking firms and their drivers are not affected at all, simply because they all travel on the Port-Aux-Basque run at all times.Trucking companies rarely ever use the Argentia service. Also any other ship could have had the very same problem as the Vision. As I mentioned earlier all ships have mechanical problems, old or new.I think that Marine Atlantic has handled this situation quite well.Free trip on the Blue Puttees, sounds good to me.

Stanley :
Giving away free trips across the gulf in exchange for all the grief, heartache and confusion because Marine Atlantic is 'waiting on parts' doesn't even scratch the surface. Families' vacation plans are tossed to the wind; trucking firms business and their drivers' lives are adversely affected. Unbelievable that the Atlantic Vision could ever be considered the 'be all end all' to Marine Atlantic. Another ship should have been found SOMEWHERE to take over the run within 24 hours notice!!! Epic fail, Marine Atlantic. Again.

All ships have mechanical problems from time to time. This is not a good time for the Vision to have trouble, with the Argentia service in full swing. However passengers with bookings are now getting a free trip across the gulf on one of the other ferries,so it's all good. Now if anyone wants to show up early and cause a snarl-up,that's their own problem.I would gladly show up at the required time for a free trip on the ferry.
