I agree with Labrador. Seems strange that this fire and the one a couple weeks back had water bombers on the ground while the fire was buring. But if that was a fire anywhere on the Avalon it would have had every plane, helicopter, man, woman and child fighting it.
There is a lot of good people all over our province and the folks in MWR and Sheshatshui are proving that neighbours still help neighbours.

Just a question, if Muskrat Falls is developed and a huge transmission line is constructed, what is the provinces back up plan if a forest fire rips through the area taking out several kms of transmission lines. Something like a forest fire can take the system out for months

I still don't understand after yestarday's new story on CBC why the Water bombers and extra fire crews were on hold. If there is an impending fire, then deal with it before it really causes trouble. Glad to hear the weather is cooperating. At least it will before this government will. If that was St. John's, all arsenal would be used!
