its obvious the quebec innu don't care about the caribou or the land. every year they come to labrador and slaughter hundreds of caribou. they leave carcases everywhere, and where they camp there is garbage left all over the ground. the local people go and clean up after they leave. If the govt doubts my statement feel free to come up to labrador next fall and see for yourself, it will keep happening until you stop it.
its time for someone in government to have the nerve to say enough is enough. I hope it happens before its too late for the province of newfoundland, and especially labrador.

Brian Gullage :
As I recall, the Quebec Innu were hunting the Red Wine caribou herd over the last few years, regardless of the fact that that herd is endangered, just to prove a point. Now they are using the possible impact of Muscrat falls hydro development on that same herd as a way to try and stop the development? No way, truth is they don't want to stop anything, they want to get a cut of the profits.

All Newfoundlanders & Labradoreans regardless of race, creed, native, non-native, etc deserve a piece of Muskrat pie. similar to what Premier John Turner did for Albertans with the oil & gas! Quebecers, well where were they when Danny asked them to help??

Worried about their use of "land and resources". Not worried about their use of govenment money though are they. You must have some kind of face to take the handouts they take and then come back and look the gift horse in the mouth.

"it would be unlikely to deliver benefits to Aboriginal communities in Quebec." Why should any NL project deliver any benefits to anyone living in Quebec? Quebec projects don't provide benefit to anyone living in NL. Isn't this the same "envirmentally friendly" Aboriginal community that has been poaching and pillaging the endangered caribou herds in Labrador because it is their "ancestral" right to slaughter endangered herds? Stay in Quebec, cross the border get arrested. If you want to hunt, get a liscence like any other outsider requires to do in NL and stop abusing your "status".

One way or the other Quebec will have a hand in this Muskrat Falls deal. The sour taste of Hydro Quebec deal is still in our mouths. Let's not have any more of that! It's time the Newfoundland Governemnt got on with this development. It's about time Quebec was told to but out.

Jack :
Since the Muskrat Falls project falls under our jurisdiction and not Quebec's, the Quebec Innu has no right to stop this project.
If this project was held in Quebec territory, which is not, then they have the right.
Therefore, a message for Quebec Innu is butt out and mind your own business.

George Hynes :
You got be kidding, they are worried about the effect the project would have on the caribou herds. Doesn't the annual slaughter by them and their others not affect the population. Give me break --- they just want to be included in any financial gain ($$$$$). Greed is the name of the game. Bad enough that the government has to supporting them. Money, money, money.

WTF? :
Is this the same band that are hunt the red caribou into extinsion?

Mind your own business :
"Quebec" Innu says it all, this is Labrador, not Quebec. Stay on your side of the border.

Go away :
Funny how this band is concerned about caribou all of a sudden but in previous years they were responsible for illegally hunting in Labrador and practicly cleaning out these caribou.Wonder if they know anyone from Quebec hydo..... or Dumeresque?

Keith :
These are the same people who went in and KILLED this Caribou herd when the Provincial Gov. said it was in danger. Now that it serves their purpose they are suddenly concerned about the Caribou. You can't have it both ways and this is Newfoundland and Labrador not Quebec.
It seems these people want it both ways, they want the law to be upheld when it suits them and if it don't they go ahead and do what they want. If someone else does the same thay get their nose up in the air about it.

Why :
Why dont the government do the proper studies on this project? Listen up.....there are so many groups against the project and the government wont even take a peak at other sources of energy. Yet other provinces are using wind and natural gas, all we do is complain about the wind and burn off the natural gas as a waste material. The only people that want MF to work are the contractors who will AGAIN make a load of money from Labrador and not have a second thought about the people and enviroment of Labrador.

Norman(Labrador) :
Aww to bad Kathy! We feel a little safer today in Happy Valley Goose Bay. Thank you Quebec. We didn't approve of this Muskrat Falls deal anyway.
