590 VOCM Part-Time Position
Would you like to be part of the 590 VOCM team? We are seeking a part-tme producer. Could it be you?
“You” is defined as: someone who understands the importance of community, someone who is technologically savvy, and someone who wants to build a solid broadcasting career. You know about internet applications, social media, and have some basic web skills. You have a basic knowledge of broadcast applications, music scheduling, and automation systems. On air experienced would be a definite asset.
The position includes producing daily talk shows both technically and coordinating guests and calls, operating for remote broadcasts, and a host of other duties related to on-air features for the radio station.
This position is based in St. John’s.

Broadcast Journalist, St. John's
Newfoundland and Labrador’s news leader, VOCM, is looking for a broadcast journalist to fill a vacancy for our expanding operation in St. John’s.
As VOCM’s commitment to local coverage continues to grow, we are looking for a journalist who wants to report on the stories that make a difference to the people of the province.
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- researching, writing, reporting, and on air reading.
- covering various events which may include the Provincial Legislature, municipal council meetings and news conferences.
- developing and following up on story ideas, and gathering news information
- Must be willing to work any and all shifts
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Computer experience (experience with NEWSROOM an asset)
- A strong work ethic with a team-oriented approach
- Valid driver’s license
