Pat is a native of St. John’s. His broadcast career began on the station he now calls home – VOCM. Pat’s talent and sense of adventure have taken him over the years to radio markets in Alberta, the Maritimes and several stops from Port Aux Basques to the capital city. Some of the really fun stories come from his time as a licensed pilot and his aerial traffic reports. With his current shift from 11:30 – 1 Pat is behind the mic! Pat says he loves what is entailed in being the Producer of Back Talk with Bill Rowe. From Premiers to Prime Ministers no one is heard until they hear from Pat first.
Gerry Phelan
Gerry Phelan was born in St.John’s and has been in the business for more than a quarter century. He joined VOCM in 1984 and was appointed news director a year later. Vince started at CJRW in Summerside in 1954, and has worked at radio and television stations in Moncton, Halifax, Montreal and St.John’s. He’s been in Newfoundland since 1976, in what he calls the best move he ever made. Vince is a multi award winning journalist, and in 2001, with his colleague Gerry Phelan, claimed the coveted Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Radio Newscast. In 2004, Vince and Gerry marked 20 consecutive years of co-anchoring the top rated VOCM 7:45 am and VOCM 1:00Major Newscasts
Tony Angelo Much like the "WKRP In Cincinnati" theme song, Tony Angelo has been from town to town, up and down the dial. He got his start working part time in the newsroom of a Toronto radio station. He moved to St. John's in 1983 where he did overnights and evenings at the old Q93 on Duckworth Street. Then it was off to London, Ontario as a Top 40 dj for a number of years. From there it was back to "The Rock", first spinning country tunes at CHVO in Carbonear, then a few years of classic
rock at KROCK in St. John's and now it's afternoon drive at 590 VOCM. (It gives a whole new meaning to "spaghetti western"). When he's not chasing his wife & kids to school concerts and sporting events, Tony enjoys playing golf (not very well) & watching "24".
Linda Swain
Linda started her radio career in 1989 in the Newsroom of CHVO, Carbonear.
She moved to CKGA in Gander in 1991, where she took on the role of News Director.

Over the last number of years she has tried her hand at just about every aspect of radio from Sales, On-Air Announcer to Producer, all while maintaining her passion for journalism. Linda took over as host of Nightline in 2003. Born in Gander, she studied art in Montreal, and she has artwork in various private and public collections. Linda currently lives in St. John’s, but considers Carbonear home.
Randy Roberts
Originally from St. John’s and a graduate of Prince of Wales Collegiate, Randy Roberts began his broadcasting career in television, as a telecine operator, working with people such as Brian Tobin, Vince Gallant, Freeman White, Freaky Farrell, Dave Maunder and Randy Simms, among many others. It was VOCM’s John Murphy who offered Randy a job as a DJ, rather than recommending he attend Broadcasting School in 1980 - the rest, as they say, is history. From evenings at CHVO in Carbonear, to on-air ventures out West in Alberta and Ontario, Randy Roberts came full circle and arrived back on the “Rock." Randy’s commercial voice has been very familiar in this market & across the country ever since. In March of 2004, Randy took over the reigns at VOCM as the host of “The Irish Newfoundland Show!” He looks forward to spending Saturday Mornings from 7:00am to 1:00pm with you!
